About the Damage Prevention Analyst Position

Colonial Pipeline is seeking a highly skilled Damage Prevention Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring consistency and compliance in the Aerial Patrol and One Call programs. This includes identifying and implementing enhancements to these programs, as well as overseeing the contract aerial patrol program to ensure timely completion and regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will interface with field operations and right of way staff, as well as participate in team projects related to right of way improvement opportunities or lessons learned. You will also be responsible for reviewing and updating applicable right of way procedures, and ensuring compliance with one call participation requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pipeline systems, equipment, and operations, as well as experience in damage prevention or field operations. You will be a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, and a commitment to consistently adhering to policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the contract aerial patrol program, including budgeting and cost tracking, ensuring compliance requirements are met, and reviewing effectiveness and identifying continual enhancements in both technology and process improvements where necessary.
  • Work with the centralized one-call center for process monitoring, process improvements, data management, reporting, system maintenance, appropriate membership maintenance, and overall damage prevention effectiveness.
  • Manage the company's collection of aerial imagery, application of change detection technology to collected imagery, and analysis of results for encroachments.
  • Provide KPIs and other reporting support to internal stakeholders for one-call and/or aerial patrol information requests.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses of one-call ticket data, AORs, aerial imagery, imagery change detection reports, encroachment reports (authorized and unauthorized) for indications of potential damage to Colonial's pipelines and/or cathodic protection systems as needed.
  • Report results of ad-hoc damage analyses (above) as well as regular damage prevention program KPIs.
  • Support one-call specialists as necessary to ensure that AORs, one-call tickets, and other observation reports are assigned to the appropriate right of way staff.
  • IRTH system reporting, form development, and both front/back-end user interfaces.
  • Ensure all applicable parties are notified and verify that proper follow-up measures have been initiated.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an accredited education institution.
  • Ideal 3+ years of damage prevention or field operations experience.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline systems, equipment, and operations.
  • Knowledgeable in product specifications, engineering principles, equipment design, pipeline hydraulics, and operating procedures.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to translate business needs and objectives into training and development requirements.
  • Solid negotiation skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and results.
  • Commitment to consistently adhering to policies and procedures and being a positive example for others by demonstrating the company's core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.
