Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Blender Operator to join our team at Salm Partners, LLC. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe blending of meat products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify production menu and product specifications prior to start-up to determine formulation and blending needs.
  • Assemble and set up blending equipment for production operation.
  • Identify and gather ingredients for blending, including spices and additional ingredients.
  • Verify and log raw meat vat information and ingredients.
  • Load raw meat from hopper to blender and add ingredients per established recipe requirements.
  • Monitor blend during mixing process and conduct process checks to verify blend consistency.
  • Generate and apply blend labels to vats, including date, quantity, ingredients, and lot traceability information.
  • Complete required paperwork, including batch sheets and rework usage log.
  • Disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble equipment as required.
  • Perform daily and weekly sanitation duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, washing and wiping down equipment, and removing waste.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency and a minimum of 6 months experience as a Backup Blender Operator.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work rapidly and with high accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with changing environmental conditions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to achieve forklift certification.
  • Ability to tolerate working in cool temperatures and with sanitation chemicals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a USDA-regulated environment.
  • Experience with meat blending operations or ready-to-eat processed meats manufacturing.
  • Experience with formulating sausage to defined fat and moisture levels.
Working Conditions

The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work in a team setting. The noise level is usually loud, and the work environment is wet and slippery. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided when required.
