Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team at Maryland Oral Surgery Associates. As a key member of our oral surgery team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support our oral surgeons in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Care: Assist with preparing patients for surgery, including reviewing charts, setting up surgical trays, and positioning patients for procedures.
  • Surgical Support: Provide assistance during surgical procedures, including handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Instrument Management: Clean and sterilize instruments, and maintain a well-organized instrument room.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with scheduling appointments, filing, and charting, as well as performing other administrative duties as needed.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care and coordination.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Surgical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS certification and X-ray certification required.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in dental assisting or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
