Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Associate to join our Credit Research Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for primary fund research, monitoring, and evaluation of credit managers, as well as making recommendations related to these activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assume significant responsibility for sourcing, reviewing, monitoring, and evaluating credit managers, and make recommendations related to these activities.
  • Coverage responsibilities will include both liquid and illiquid strategies, split across a broad range of sub-strategies.
  • Serve as primary analyst on certain of the Firm's existing investments with credit managers, monitoring existing relationships and communicating potential issues or changes and investment opportunities to the team.
  • Perform due diligence on potential new investments with managers across various credit strategies and make written recommendations to the broader Research team.
  • Communicate manager and strategy-related issues to the Investments group, Investment Committee, and investors.
  • Provide market, strategy, and manager insights to the broad Investment team.
  • Collect data and perform thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis of existing and potential investments.
  • Track, analyze, and interpret trends in the strategies and related capital markets.
  • Write research reports on credit strategies and the industry broadly.
  • Mentor and train junior investment professionals.
  • Actively collaborate and participate with the Business Development team and clients in account reviews, marketing, and product development for credit product offerings.
  • Perform special projects related to the strategy or credit industry.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required. Appropriate professional designation, such as a CFA, preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of experience with a track record of investment leadership and advancement in positions of increasing responsibility.
  • Significant experience in credit fund manager selection or monitoring of credit fund investments preferred.
  • Broad-based investment and capital markets knowledge.
  • Ability to state and justify a well-reasoned investment opinion - both verbal and written. Experience in presenting complex material in a clear and concise manner to senior investment leaders.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • High degree of integrity and the ability to recognize the requirements of confidentiality with a strong concern for quality of final product and the ability to balance that concern with deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a cross-functional team environment. Entrepreneurial approach to task management. Ability to take control and manage tasks independently to closure.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven success in a role that provides due diligence, research, and interpretation of market environment, opportunities, and investment strategies.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative individual who is a team player, self-starter, and independent thinker.
  • Ability to travel.
