Key ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties include:
- Maintaining optimal conditions in agency facilities, ensuring adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation, while performing thorough cleaning each workday.
- Executing cleaning tasks such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, washing, vacuuming, polishing, and waxing floors. This also includes cleaning windows, woodwork, furniture, and both interior and exterior areas.
- Ensuring restrooms are clean and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Managing waste disposal from buildings and surrounding areas.
- Assisting in the movement of furniture and equipment as needed.
- Identifying and procuring necessary materials, equipment, and supplies for maintenance tasks.
- Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Ideal candidates should possess:
- A solid understanding of contemporary cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment, along with principles of sanitation and safety in maintenance work.
- The ability to operate various equipment, including office technology, and perform minor repairs on facilities and equipment.
- Capability to maintain accurate records and make informed decisions relevant to job functions.
- Physical stamina to perform assigned duties, including lifting up to 40 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods.
- A valid State Driver's License.
The knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and relevant experience in custodial and maintenance roles.
