Job Title: Emergency Department Nurse

Job Specialty: Emergency Department

Job Duration: 13-week contract

Shift: 6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an Emergency Department; Previous experience in a Trauma Level 1 facility preferred

License: Current RN licensure

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC

Must-Have: Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans; Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services; Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel

Job Description:

  • Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
  • Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and families.
  • Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
  • Participate in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensure implementation of solutions.
  • Develop and display clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to create effective nursing care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with techs and other staff, understanding staffing shortages may occur.
  • Schedule work in sixweek blocks with a preference for limited consecutive days of PTO.
  • Participate in phone interviews as part of the hiring process.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous travel nursing experience
  • PALS certification
  • Experience working in innercity hospitals
  • Experience in handling high populations of psychiatric and critical patients
