Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe and effective patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the defined scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also oversees and instructs patient and family education, as well as the activities of other nursing staff, while upholding care standards within the Medical/Surgical Unit. This position carries direct responsibility for the care provided to assigned patients. The Registered Nurse communicates with physicians regarding any changes in patients' clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology. The ability to respond swiftly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses is essential.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certification upon hire and maintenance of certification.
- Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintenance of certification preferred.
- Previous experience in an Acute Care hospital setting preferred.
- Experience in Ventilator Management preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
