Job Summary:

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Water Aerobics Instructor to lead our aquatic fitness programs. As a Water Aerobics Instructor, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment that promotes member safety and participation in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and instruct water fitness classes in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
• Instruct water fitness classes for a variety of skill levels.
• Prepare lesson plans that cater to different fitness goals and abilities.
• Provide clear directions, cues, and demonstrations to ensure member safety and understanding.
• Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes member engagement and motivation.

Requirements:

• One year or more related experience preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate water fitness skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications (preferred).
• Ability to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).

• Competitive hourly rate: $18.67 to $20.67 per hour, depending on experience.
