Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Invasive Lab team at Rio Grande Regional Hospital. As a Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the patient receiving invasive, diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Manage high-risk intravenous therapies and evaluate respiratory status, including pulse oximetry.
  • Use therapeutic communication in daily practice and maintain a safe and therapeutic cardiovascular invasive lab environment.
  • Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual cardiovascular invasive lab patients.
  • Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care.
  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver and participate in Cardiovascular Department specific initiatives and process improvement.
  • Promote a supportive environment and provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse with Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree.
  • 1 year RN Experience - Cath Lab and/or Critical Care experience preferred.
