Job Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you'll provide routine, standardized nursing care for patients under the supervision of a physician. Your responsibilities will include assisting physicians with examinations and procedures, arranging patient appointments, and monitoring medical supplies and equipment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist physicians with examinations and procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
  • Arrange patient appointments for diagnostic testing, consults, referrals, and hospital admission, ensuring seamless coordination of care.
  • Monitor and maintain stock of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and patient safety.
  • Document patient vital statistics and encounter data into patient charts, ensuring accurate and complete records.
  • Obtain brief medical histories and chief complaints from patients, providing essential information for care planning.
  • Call in prescriptions for patients according to physician orders, ensuring timely and accurate medication management.
  • Promote positive health behaviors and self-care skills through patient education, empowering patients to take control of their health.
  • Prepare exam rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patient care.
  • Receive and return clinically related telephone calls, screening and forwarding those requiring physician action.
  • Complete medical/physical history forms and other related information for insurance companies, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Inform physicians of schedule changes, ensuring seamless coordination of care.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

This is a non-management role that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

Post-high school education up to 18 months: Post-high school education in an accredited school of nursing.

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

South Carolina LPN License (Lawson Code NLPN).

In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements

N/A.

Other Required Skills and Experience

CPR Certification required.
