Job Summary

NMG Aerospace is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in the fabrication of complex parts with close tolerances. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up machines and machining parts using CNC Lathe and/or CNC Mill with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up tooling and fixtures on machines using engineering setup drawings.
  • Establish origins of machine to fixture and machining of first part to blueprint requirements.
  • Inspect and verify part quality.
  • Run production parts after setting up.
  • Establish production standards and optimize production for maximum output while maintaining quality and blueprint requirements.
  • Perform in-process inspection and benching of part during machine cycle.
  • Complete all inspection data, SPC charts, and certified operator documentation.
  • Comply with safety standards and guidelines.
  • Maintain good housekeeping during all phases of production.
  • Make accurate and detailed transactions of work done in ERP software.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality department representatives to ensure product meets set requirements.
Additional Duties
  • Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, company-wide.
  • Perform other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.
  • Remain current with, and complete all required training as assigned.
  • Adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task-specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
Requirements
  • 4-7 years of CNC Machining experience in a regulated industry, aerospace preferred.
  • Knowledge of set-up and operation of CNC machines with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints.
  • Physical requirements include: standing for long periods of time, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company.
  • Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation-specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.
  • Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed apprenticeship program; journeymen certification preferred.
Skills and Technologies
  • Proficient in GD&T.
  • Proficient in G-Code.
  • Machine setups for production runs.

  • CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Haas, Doosan, Mazak).
  • CNC Swiss Lathe.
  • CNC Lathe (5+ axis).
Compensation

$25 - $38 / hr
