This is a contract job opportunity with potential for permanent placement. The position is located in Charlotte, NC, and the schedule is 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday.

Job Summary:

The Phlebotomist will assist in performing various assigned duties, including troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. The ideal candidate will have experience with pediatrics and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
  • Properly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection to patients.
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
  • Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature.
  • Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
  • Attend annual department trainings and answer telephone calls.

Requirements:

  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
  • Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Pediatrics experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
