Job Overview

The Music Educator plays a vital role in delivering engaging and innovative music instruction to young learners, utilizing the Building Kidz music Curriculum. This position involves collaboration with fellow members of the Performing Arts department to orchestrate one annual recital and one musical production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructing music classes for children aged infant to 5 years, with sessions lasting between 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Creating a nurturing and trusting environment for children through warmth and support.
  • Exhibiting enthusiasm and a passion for working with young children.
  • Traveling to various locations as required.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Collaborating effectively with other performing arts personnel to produce two imaginative shows each year, encompassing music, dance, theater, set design, and costume design.
  • Working harmoniously within a diverse team.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned by the Performing Arts Director.
  • Facilitating musical performances in two annual shows.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in reading music and arranging sheet music for rehearsals.
  • Familiarity with various instruments, including drums, tambourines, choral bells, xylophones, maracas, and keyboards.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of formal training in music, dance, or theater.
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in developing and teaching music or theater performances using diverse instruments and techniques is advantageous.
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or ECE credits.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Level One AZ Fingerprint Card.
  • Recent TB test within the last year.

*Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License and have access to a reliable vehicle to facilitate travel to multiple locations.
