Position Overview: Under general supervision, the Patient Registration Representative adheres to established operating procedures and protocols for all patient registration functions. This includes welcoming patients, managing face-to-face check-ins, conducting pre-registration, verifying insurance eligibility, and handling cash collections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts new patient registrations and updates existing registration and insurance details.
  • Responds to inquiries from callers and customers, advocating for their needs to ensure satisfaction.
  • Serves as a friendly and approachable first point of contact for all callers and customers, fostering loyalty and anticipating their requirements.
  • Delivers efficient and effective customer relationship management.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is mandatory. A minimum of one year of experience in patient admitting, registration, or insurance eligibility verification in a healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with EPIC systems is advantageous. Experience with insurance payor systems and ICD-10 medical terminology is also preferred. Strong computer proficiency and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications are essential.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities and standards effectively through various communication methods, including telephone, in-person interactions, and written correspondence with patients, visitors, and clinical/non-clinical staff. The ability to instruct others and perform a variety of tasks in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions is crucial.
