Job Description

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) plays a vital role in assisting patients to succeed in the milieu program and ensuring patient safety while on the unit, at school, or participating in activities. This includes running groups and overseeing the daily schedule.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assists and monitors residents with daily living activities, demonstrating an alert, sensitive, and supportive attitude.
  • Interacts therapeutically with residents in one-to-one situations, community meetings, and group sessions.
  • Acts as a resident advocate, maintaining confidentiality and upholding resident rights.
  • Evaluates knowledge of common psychiatric diagnoses and recognizes associated behaviors, applying proper intervention techniques.
