Job Summary:

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Wheatland Tube in Rochelle, IL. As a key member of our maintenance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our tube mill production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of our process, equipment, controls, and storeroom areas.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all equipment, including PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and motors.
  • Work with electrical prints and multimeters to perform electrical troubleshooting.
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance on assigned electrical systems.
  • Assist other team members as needed and effectively communicate equipment issues with the Maintenance Foreman.
  • Assist in new installation and upgrades of plant equipment.
  • Sign out all materials used to maintain proper inventory.
  • Utilize catalogs and vendor contacts to research and requisition parts and materials as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Interface with mechanics, production operators, production foreman, engineers, or any other persons involved during equipment PM or repairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Maintenance Electrician experience.
  • Ability to pass an aptitude test.
  • Strong PLC knowledge and experience.
  • Electrical and Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform mechanical tasks.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
  • Ability to read and understand Electrical and Mechanical prints.
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
  • Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.

Physical Abilities:

This role requires the ability to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs are necessary, and the ability to remain in a stationary position for several hours is also required. The ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull is necessary, and the ability to lift 60lbs is required. The ability to stand for 10-12 hours is also necessary.
