Hampton, Virginia, United States MRG Exams Full time
Opportunity for Physiatrists

M RG Exams, a leading provider of independent medical examinations, is seeking a Physiatrist to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.

This role involves reviewing medical health records through a secure Web Portal and conducting comprehensive assessments on each veteran. The Physiatrist will also complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) through the Web Portal, documenting exam findings needed by the VA.

The DBQs are condition-specific forms created by the VA, and the Physiatrist will NOT make disability determinations, as this is solely the responsibility of the VA.

This position is not a treating role, but rather provides assessments. The average caseload is 4 veterans per day, with a hybrid schedule consisting of telehealth and face-to-face interactions, working 3 days a week.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Be interested in performing independent medical assessments versus traditional patient care and treatment.
  • Have proficiency in finding key data points within large electronic medical records.
  • Be able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete DBQs and form medical opinions.
  • Possess strong typing skills.
  • Excel at time management and staying on task to meet requirements.

Additional requirements include holding a current license as a Physiatrist and being Board Certified in either Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology.

As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to work remotely while still serving the community and contributing to the mission of MRG Exams.
