Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management services for patients in inpatient, outpatient, and telemedicine settings.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and services.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and recovery strategies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to psychiatric care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and regulatory requirements in psychiatric nursing and mental health care.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a focus in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
- Registered Nurse licensure to practice in the State of Michigan.
- Graduation from a state-certified Nurse Practitioner program specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing or post-grad certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing in combination with other Nurse Practitioner education.
- Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Unrestricted license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the State of Michigan and an unrestricted DEA registration for each practice location.
- Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP) certification.
- State issued Controlled Substance license.
- No suspension or exclusion from participation in any federal healthcare programs.
- Active and up-to-date documentation of collaborating physician relationship.
- 3 years of direct patient care experience in psychiatric settings, preferred.
- Current BLS certification.
- Knowledge of OSHA, MIOSHA, JACHO, CARF, and HIPAA regulations.
- Experience working in a hospital-based clinic or outpatient setting.
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Flexibility to accommodate the needs of the team and adapt to changing circumstances.
This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek. Hours and days will be determined by the business needs of the department. May require on-call duty and the ability to work outside of scheduled work hours when necessary.
