Pharmacy Technician

The Certified Pharmacy Technician I-IV plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate preparation, distribution, and reconciliation of medications and healthcare products within the pharmacy. Working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, this individual will adhere to the Texas State Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations, maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and label medications accurately and efficiently, with a final check from the pharmacist before dispensing or releasing any compounded medication.
- Track prescription orders via pharmacy programs to ensure correct delivery information is provided to patients.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and ensure adequate inventory is maintained in all areas, communicating when products need to be reordered and managing drug supplies in a cost-effective manner.
- Perform routine tasks using existing policies and procedures, with conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within a discipline.
The Certified Pharmacy Technician I-IV will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
Requirements:- Current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- National certification through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Graduate from a pharmacy technology program.
- Sterile Compounding Certification accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
