About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Architect to join our team at Charles Schwab. As a key member of our Client Data organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic vision and technical roadmap for our Order (O2) platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and socialize policies, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure stability and operational efficiency of the platform.
  • Lead engagements with adjacent teams to collaborate on technology efforts in alignment with the broader Data Strategy.
  • Work closely with a team of experienced engineers to identify and craft solutions for the current and next iteration of the O2 platform.
  • Drive an organization of engineering excellence, cultivating a culture that challenges the status quo.
  • Collaborate with Business Stakeholders to understand business requirements and define system architecture for new business initiatives and programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Solution Architect or Domain Architect, with a focus on Application Modernization and Cloud Transformation.
  • 6+ years of managing the integration of an organization's technology strategy with business capabilities and goals.
  • 5+ years of leading the design, implementation, and ongoing support of architectural initiatives.
  • Strong architecture, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and executives, translating technical language into actionable plans.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of various applications, servers, and network security best practices.
  • Experience designing mission-critical, 24x7 systems.
  • Working proficiency with SCM and DevOps tool suites.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts.
