Spartech, LLC, a leader in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Plastic Sheet Production Specialist to join our Crawfordsville team. Our facility specializes in the extrusion and conversion of flat plastic sheets, which are utilized in various applications including signage, veterinary products, and more. We are committed to sustainability by reusing scrap plastic to create eco-friendly solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate the assigned extrusion line to produce high-quality plastic sheets efficiently.
  • Review process documentation for each task to ensure proper setup and material usage.
  • Conduct safe startup and shutdown procedures for the extrusion line.
  • Perform initial and ongoing quality inspections to verify product specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members on color and material transitions.
  • Assist in grinding scrap material for reuse when possible.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and machinery.
  • Report any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support fellow operators as needed.
  • Accurately document all labor activities.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and utilize measuring tools such as tape measures and micrometers.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 60 pounds and work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Experience operating a hand truck and forklift is beneficial.
  • Willingness to stand for extended periods.

This role reports directly to the Extrusion Manager.
