Job Summary:We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate High School Math Teacher to join our team at Uncommon Schools. As a Math Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus to high school students, and for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that promote student understanding and achievement.
Responsibilities:Instruction:
- Teach Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus to high school students
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote student understanding and achievement
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to cultivate student awareness of how to make sense of, persevere through, and solve problems
Data Analysis:
- Meet weekly with your principal and/or instructional coach to analyze and respond to trends in student work samples and assessments
- Learn and implement strategies to differentiate instruction for all learners in your classroom
School Culture:
- Build positive relationships with students to ensure they feel seen, loved, and heard
- Partner with students' families to ensure appropriate resources are available to support their child's learning needs
- Engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions
- Participate in weekly, school-wide meetings to cultivate community, model our core values, and encourage student achievement
We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate High School Math Teacher who:
- Has academic expertise in Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or other related fields
- Has a demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years experience preferred)
- Has a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Is committed to the mission of Uncommon Schools and investment in our vision for being an anti-racist organization

- Starting compensation between $56,000 to $77,000
