As a key member of our healthcare workforce solutions team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our ICU.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide 24/7 accountability and responsibility for a defined patient care area, ensuring a climate optimal for the provision of individualized goal-directed nursing care.
- Nursing Practice: Develop and implement a plan for assuring delivery of individual goal-directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process, delegating tasks appropriately to meet the needs of the individual patient and to the skills of the employee supervised.
- Staff Development: Develop and implement a plan for care delivery with patient safety as the primary goal, demonstrating expertise in selecting and managing unit-based staff.
- Financial Management: Review budget and assume responsibility for maintaining operating expenses at target levels.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in development and evaluation of professional practice by participating on unit and/or hospital committees, special projects, and through attendance at staff meetings and town halls.
- Patient Safety: Actively participate in unit and/or hospital performance improvement activities, delivering patient care and/or department service in a safe, competent, and efficient manner as determined by outcomes, quality monitors, and other internal and external processes.
- Experience: A minimum of five years' of acute care experience as an RN in the BURN or Trauma ICU, with 2 years of acute care BURN or Trauma ICU RN Leadership experience in the ICU.
- Certifications: National Specialty Certification or plan to achieve within 1 year of hire, BLS/ACLS required.
- Education: BSN required, MSN preferred.
- Skills: Experience in Trauma or Burn and leadership, inpatient, performance improvement projects, communication skills, flexible, willing to come and work nights and weekends.
