Occupational Health Specialist

The Physical Therapist will play a crucial role in our team, working under the direction of the Onsite Innovations Medical Director to develop and implement worksite injury management and health improvement programs. This position requires a strong background in physical therapy, occupational health, and wellness coaching.
Key Responsibilities- Provide on-site care and management of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses using OSHA first aid protocols.
- Develop and implement occupational injury prevention programs to reduce workplace hazards and promote a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the NP/PA and Director of Athletic Training to provide comprehensive care and rehabilitation services.
- Conduct Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs), Return to Work, and Work Hardening programs to support employee recovery and return to work.
- Act as a liaison between employees, employers, and physicians to arrange physical evaluations and coordinate post-injury rehabilitation.
- Assist with safety initiatives and OSHA regulatory compliance, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Develop and implement health education and coaching programs to promote employee wellness and lifestyle behavior change.
- Review biometric screening results with employees and establish health goals and objectives.
- Provide personal fitness and exercise prescriptions and ongoing coaching to achieve physical activity and health improvement goals.
- Evaluate program effectiveness, utilization, and make recommendations for change.
- Valid State License
- 3+ years of physical therapy experience with significant rehabilitative skills required
- 2+ years of occupational health experience
- Certified in CPR/AED/First Aid
- Certified to perform DOT Urine Drug & Alcohol Screens (a plus)
- Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (a plus)
- On-site occupational health experience (a plus)
- Prior wellness coaching and/or fitness industry experience/industrial experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Strong administrative and management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain high levels of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
- Experienced in developing health and wellness programs and performing ergonomic assessments
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation case management and regulations
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, ADA, FMLA, and OSHA regulations
- Familiarity with manufacturing and production facility practices
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
