Sample Custodian

The Sample Custodian is a critical role within our laboratory team, responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of samples. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Receive, store, and distribute samples to the appropriate laboratory for analysis.
• Ensure all samples are properly labeled and documented.
• Perform quality control checks on samples and equipment.
• Assist with laboratory tasks, including washing glassware, weighing/measuring samples, and other basic tasks under supervision.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient sample processing and analysis.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs and handle hazardous materials safely.

This role requires working in a laboratory and office environment, with regular exposure to safety equipment and protocols. The employee may be required to stand, walk, or move to various locations around the office and laboratory.
