Smart Grid Infrastructure Specialist

The Building People, LLC is seeking a skilled Advanced Metering Project Engineer to join our team in the connected infrastructure division. As a key member of our rapidly expanding MSI team, you will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions to clients across various industries.
About the RoleThis position requires a self-motivated individual with strong subject matter knowledge of building systems and energy infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting site visits, assessments, and logistics planning to ensure seamless project execution. You will work closely with project team members to identify suitable locations for meter installations, provide recommendations for repairs and replacements, and maintain effective communication with site stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough site visits and assessments to determine the operating status of existing energy meters
- Collaborate with customers, trade contractors, and building inspectors to ensure successful project outcomes
- Analyze facility plans and drawings to identify optimal meter installation locations
- Develop and implement strategies for meter repairs, replacements, and new installations
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- At least 5 years of experience in related fields, including building design, trade disciplines, and energy infrastructure management
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
- Able to obtain a basic civilian security clearance
- Experience working with diverse project types, technologies, and regulatory frameworks
Additional skills that would make you an ideal candidate include:
- Experience with conducting building energy audits or facility condition assessments
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, executive orders, and consensus standards
- Ability to organize technical meetings and working groups
- Familiarity with Federal government agencies, including EPA, GSA, and DoD
