Logistics Training Associate

Job Description

The Logistics Training Associate participates in a comprehensive training program, encompassing classroom instruction and hands-on driving skills. As part of this program, trainees assist experienced drivers, work towards obtaining their CDL Class A license, and adhere to safety practices and company policies. Upon successful completion of the initial training period and meeting performance expectations, candidates are eligible to enroll in CDL school and eventually assume the role of a licensed driver.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain 100% attendance in all elements of the training program, actively participating in classroom exercises and hands-on instruction.
  • Satisfactorily maintain feedback from instructors and driver/coaches during the classroom, yard skills, and on-the-road driving portion of the training program.
  • Assist designated US Foods drivers in route completion, learning all aspects of the job.
  • Successfully enroll in CDL school and obtain a CDL permit license within the first 45 days of the training program.
  • Successfully obtain a CDL Class A license within the 90 days of the training program.
  • Achieve defined performance expectations during the initial 90-day probationary period of the program.
  • Attend all required company meetings and adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to use or learn to use all equipment, including global positioning systems (GPS), i.e., XATA, POD, and tools used to perform the job.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
  • Must be able to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for the position.
  • Must know/have ability to learn material safety data sheet information regarding all materials used within the scope of the work.
  • Must be able to perform coupling procedures for the Tractor/Trailer.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must successfully complete the DOT written examination for drivers and pass a controlled substance abuse screening test.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, including applying tire chains if needed.
  • Must adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical and obtain a two-year DOT Medical Card upon receiving a conditional employment offer.
Salary Information

Estimated salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
