Job Title: Mining Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mining Engineer to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. As a key member of our Field Operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting our mining operations throughout North America.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing work plans, designing work, tracking quantities, surveying, and collaborating with our mining and construction teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to gain hands-on experience in safely planning and executing work across our operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare work plans and work packages for field crews and craft
  • Interpret drawings and specifications for field operations
  • Order and schedule material deliveries
  • Support day-to-day operations
  • Perform mining and civil design work to support mining and civil operations
  • Review and analyze data relative to the project
  • Complete plans and specification reviews for projects
  • Assist with the preparation of bids
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mining, Civil, Geological, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other natural science engineering fields
  • 0-2 years of experience in mining or a related field
  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed
  • Mining, Mining Infrastructure/Heavy Civil project experience is preferred
  • Ability to freely access all points of a project site in a wide-ranging climate and environment
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
