Sr. Solutions Architect

Job Summary:

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Solutions Architect to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team at Ft. Meade, MD. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in directing technical teams throughout the engineering lifecycle, ensuring the successful migration of common IT services for over twenty DoD agencies under a common platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation planning to consolidate DoD agencies' services across infrastructure, network, identity, hosting, support, and end-user capabilities.
  • Provide hands-on engineering and technical leadership for overall migration assessment, planning, architecture, design, and implementation tasks.
  • Set standards, enhance architectures, and provide technical guidance to ensure consistent delivery and quality of service across multiple government agencies.
  • Oversee and coordinate technical migration planning activities while monitoring and managing risks.
  • Brief senior DoD/Government management on active and proposed plans, technical issues, and architectural tradeoffs.
  • Work with project teams to identify risks, dependencies, and propose mitigation activities to deliver migrations on schedule and within budget.
  • Develop, enhance, and implement standardized migration processes and procedures.
  • Document migration lessons learned for continual improvement of future migration activities.
  • Drive automation capabilities that increase engineering velocity and improved service delivery.
  • Assess systems architecture and recommend solutions to improve it.
  • Continually research current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed.
  • Identify and manage technical risks with respect to infrastructure migrations and timelines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business process and drive operational efficiency.
  • Communicate with stakeholders proactively throughout the project to gather inputs, keep them updated, and coordinate with other teams.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree and 15-20 years of relevant work experience or Doctorate with 13-16 years of prior relevant experience, additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience planning and executing large/complex IT migrations and consolidations.
  • Experience with discovery, event management, and ITSM tools.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud and network topologies, both transport and IP.
  • Superb writing skills.
  • Leadership experience in a cross-functional or matrix organization.
  • Self-starter, strong leader, and ability to work independently with little supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarization of DISA, DOD regulations, and directives.
Pay Range:

$144, $260,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
