Job Summary:

As a Dental Hygienist at Geisinger Health System, you will play a vital role in providing preventive and therapeutic direct patient care. Your expertise will be utilized to perform external and internal oral evaluations, record comprehensive periodontal and restorative dental charting, and administer pain control agents as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform prophylactic treatment, including placement of sub-gingival agents, periodontal probing, scaling, and root planning.
  • Expose and process dental radiographs.
  • Apply caries preventative agents, including topical fluoride trays and varnish, dental sealants, and desensitizing agents to root surfaces.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and disinfect dental equipment and operatory.
  • Maintain responsibility for general operatory and clinic maintenance, as well as monitor expiration dates on supplies.
  • Update and review medical health history and complete all electronic medical record screenings at every dental visit.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene.
  • Licensed Dental Hygienist - PA State Board of Dentistry.
