Fisheries Accounting Specialist I-YKFP

We are seeking a highly skilled Fisheries Accounting Specialist I to join our team at the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities of the Yakama Nation Fisheries Program.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities of the Yakama Nation Fisheries Program.
- Provide direction for program and project specific finances, including development of a sound financial strategy and internal controls.
- Plan, direct, coordinate and maintain the integrated financial and risk management functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Yakama Nation's Financial and Personnel Policies.
- Ensure contractor expenditures comply with contract requirements and ensure expenditures are within budget and allowable under all regulations for tribal and federal contracting.
- Review and verify cost documentation financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and adequacy.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting or related field.
- Three years of experience as a Bookkeeper V, demonstrating the ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
- Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
