As a Floor Care Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of hard surface and carpeted areas within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpeted areas, including dusting, wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, and bonneting.
  • Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform cleaning activities within established guidelines and assigned areas to meet quality standards, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations.
  • Responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions and adherence to all safety precautions.
  • Collect trash and recycling for proper disposal in designated containers.
  • Perform outside work, including policing grounds, as assigned.
  • Represent Healthcare Services Group, Inc. in a positive manner, following oral instructions, and demonstrating a pleasant, tactful, and courteous attitude towards supervisors, coworkers, and client staff.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous school custodial/janitorial experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 ½ years' experience in floor care is preferred, with on-site training provided.
  • Knowledge of how to strip, wax, and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance upon completion of initial training.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, cooperate with coworkers and staff, and perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.
  • Must be able to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision and do so without injury to oneself or other individuals.
  • Must be able to be at work as scheduled on time and be on your feet for 6-8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products and fully understand and complete all in-services.
  • Must live in the service area and comply with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by State, Local, and/or Customers.
