Job Summary:
We are seeking a Fiber and Copper Splicer to perform work in various environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret prints and comprehend fiber optic color codes to install and test fiber cables in diverse settings (both underground and aerial).
- Utilize fiber fusion splicing machines, including mass fusion splicing equipment, and operate various OTDR and power meters.
- Install both aerial and underground splice closures along with other common closures used in fiber optic cable splicing and termination.
- Conduct testing using OTDRs, Power Meter/Light Sources, and VFLs, documenting results according to customer specifications.
- Bond and ground fibers following client requirements.
- Maintain a professional demeanor with colleagues and clients while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Foreman/Construction Manager.
- Familiarity with Fujikura splicing tools and materials is advantageous.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a fiber splicer.
- Proficient in working from blueprints, specifications, and system documentation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of standard construction practices for fiber cable.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to carry a 24-foot ladder and utilize fall protection when necessary.
- Willingness to work up to 6 days per week in various weather conditions and travel as needed.
