Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough mechanical inspections, routine maintenance, and electrical repairs on both diesel and gasoline vehicles following company policies and procedures.
  • Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns in the field as required.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians as necessary.
  • Contribute to the creation of new maintenance programs.
  • Operate company vehicles in compliance with company policies and safe driving standards.
  • Accurately complete all necessary vehicle repair and maintenance documentation in a timely manner.
  • Participate in all required training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Lead Technician or Operations Manager.
  • Support other technicians as needed.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and maintained according to company policies and local EMS standards.
  • Adapt positively to changing priorities within the fleet and operations departments.
  • Respond to road calls effectively, diagnosing and repairing vehicles with quality workmanship.
  • Document vehicle repairs and maintenance thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner, including a complete record of all labor hours, parts, and materials used.
  • Maintain accurate records of all parts and materials utilized.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and foster positive working relationships with all fleet and operations personnel; maintain professionalism with external suppliers and contacts.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with all personnel and uphold professional conduct with outside contacts.
  • Present a professional appearance at all times.

Essential Tools and Equipment:

  • Telecommunication devices and computers
  • Personal hand tools
  • Vehicle shop tools, including but not limited to: vehicle hoists, floor jacks, diagnostic scan tools, brake lathes, tire balancers, A/C recovery machines, pneumatic tools, and various hand tools.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience as a Class C Mechanic, with the automotive knowledge and skills necessary for maintenance and repairs on company vehicles.
  • Possession of a current and valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • A complete set of personal tools is required.
  • If currently employed, a recommendation from the current supervisor is necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality regarding sensitive matters.
  • Capability to read, interpret, and follow instructions presented in various documents and manuals.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected.
  • EVOC and CPR Certification are required.
