Bagging Line Production Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bagging Line Operator to join our team at Lawn & Garden Mid-Atlantic. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating plant machinery and adhering to safety policies and procedures to produce high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
- Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates
- Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
- Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance, ensuring it meets quality requirements
- Perform routine machine maintenance
- Assist other operators to set up machines and complete tasks to meet deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Operate a bagging/soil line
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; or at least one month of related experience in trades specific to job requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to speak or hear
- Required to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from the ground level
- Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and whole body, including bending, crouching, climbing, and pushing/pulling
