Role Title:
Accessibility Tester

Responsibilities:

  • Validate front-end features for 508 compliance against Web Accessibility standards.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute tests to verify system 508 compliance and document and report test results.
  • Develop test plans, scripts, and scenarios and implement them with software test procedures.
  • Participate in test planning meetings and test readiness reviews providing technical input.
  • Test 508 accessibility on mobile devices (iOS + Android).
  • Work with ARIA tags/labels and understand how they affect screen readers on web applications.
  • Review project scope and identify impact for in-scope applications and business areas.
  • Understand and follow project test strategy, including scope of testing, execution schedule, and dependencies.
  • Identify and escalate risks and issues related to testing scope.
  • Participate in project-specific testing activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with test leads to define test scenarios applicable to project scope.
  • Create test scenarios (detailed steps and expected behavior) and upload to test management tools.
  • Ensure correct bi-directional traceability is established for linking test cases with business requirements.
  • Identify and set up test data needed to support test case execution.
  • Execute test cases and create defects for failed scenarios following project standards and testing best practices.
  • Ensure correct traceability is established for linking defects with test cases.
  • Escalate issues and risks to test leads and managers and provide remediation ideas.
  • Communicate and interact with different stakeholders (development team, business/functional team, leadership) independently with minimal oversight.
