We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at JAG Physical Therapy. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their goals and regain independence.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' strengths and weaknesses to develop effective treatment plans
- Operate in a high-energy, positive-thinking environment to encourage patients to achieve their goals
- Utilize training and skills to aid patients in healing, recovering, improving pain level/tolerance, and maximizing functional independence
- Experience in Hand Therapy is highly desirable
- Collect and record patient care data, including daily billing and productivity
- Prepare for evaluations, including obtaining patient history and researching unfamiliar diagnoses
- Identify need for consultations and/or refer patients to other healthcare professionals or services
- Provide education and training to patients and their support systems
- Functional training, including ADLs/IADLs, therapeutic activities, rehabilitation equipment prescription and training, and community reintegration
- Neurological interventions, including handling techniques, neurodevelopmental training, seating and positioning, vision/perception, cognitive rehabilitation, neuromuscular re-education, spasticity management, and behavioral management
- Musculoskeletal interventions, including therapeutic exercise, joint mobilization, and modalities
- Provide data and note writing using WEB PT EMR for all treatments provided
- Oversee support staff, including COTA and OT aides
- Attend annual JAG PT Billing and Coding seminar
- Present facility-level in-service annually
- Promote JAG PT in the community through lectures and presentations

- Bachelor's or master's degree required, doctorate degree preferred
- Licensed Occupational Therapist
- Completed state-regulated CEU requirement in the appropriate state (NY, NJ)
- Valid CPR license
- Experience/knowledge with an EMR software is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong clinical decision-making skills
- 1+ year(s) professional OT experience
- Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work as a team member and individually with minimal supervision
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times
