Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily classroom operations, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Collaborate with a co-teacher to address the needs of parents, children, and staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in accordance with NAEYC guidelines.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, and attendance records.
  • Participate in staff meetings, academy events, and parent conferences as required.
  • Guide and support children during various activities, addressing any social or academic challenges.
  • Design and implement lesson plans and schedules tailored to the children's developmental needs.
  • Prepare instructional materials and aids for classroom activities.
  • Assist children during meal times and ensure proper clean-up procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all classroom and outdoor equipment is maintained and functioning correctly.
  • Organize the classroom into distinct interest areas to facilitate learning.
  • Lead other staff members in maintaining an orderly classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and maintain updated classroom bulletin boards.

Additional Duties:

  • Be flexible in accepting temporary assignments as needed, such as answering phones or assisting with administrative tasks.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of academy-wide events.
  • Engage with prospective families and provide information about our programs.
  • Complete 30 hours of training annually as mandated by DFPS.

Qualifications:

  • Must fulfill state requirements for the position.
  • Background check clearance is necessary for employment.
  • Ability to lift at least 40 pounds consistently throughout the workday.
