Body Shop Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Body Shop Technician to join our team at Toyota Cool Springs Collision Center. Our organization has been recognized as a top workplace by The Tennessean for over 5 years, and we need an exceptional individual who has the expertise to help us take our business to the next level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair vehicles to factory specifications in accordance with the highest quality standards.
  • Utilize a variety of techniques including welding, metalworking, refinishing, painting, and body alignment.
  • Follow repair procedures and guidelines with utmost attention to detail and safety.
  • Diagnose and identify repairing opportunities for various make and model vehicles.
  • Perform auto body repairs with minimal supervision and provide quality certification to complete each repair job to the highest standards.
  • Accurately document all repair work performed on a daily basis.
  • Review and analyze damage reports to determine appropriate repair procedures.
  • Notify management of any defects or malfunctions found during the repair process.
  • Continuously learn new techniques and procedures to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines and utilize PPE at all times.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in auto body repair and paint.
  • I-CAR and ASE certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with various hand tools and equipment, such as spray guns, sanders, and grinders.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and a team player.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
