Infection Control Registered Nurse

Position Overview:
The Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable to the Chief of the Office of Performance and Quality (OPQ) and plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Multi-Drug Resistant Organism (MDRO) Prevention Initiative. This includes the management of quality enhancement projects within Community Living Centers (CLCs) at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all facets of the MDRO Prevention Initiative.
- Demonstrate innovative leadership and strategic approaches to enhance quality of care within CLCs.
- Act as a primary consultant for MDRO infection prevention and control, providing guidance to staff, patients, and visitors based on established national standards.
- Utilize specialized healthcare management principles to support effective healthcare delivery systems.
- Analyze and report data on infection rates and trends, ensuring transparency with key stakeholders.
- Participate in the formulation and revision of infection control policies in alignment with national guidelines.
- Educate healthcare personnel and the community on infection prevention practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess and improve infection control measures across the facility.
- Engage in committees and task forces aimed at enhancing patient care and safety.
Work Schedule:
Standard work hours with potential for flexible arrangements. Telework options available on an ad-hoc basis.
