Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Eastern Connecticut Health Network. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a first responder to emergency situations, including responding to alarm activations and investigating causes.
  • Patrol hospital grounds, parking areas, and internal areas to prevent vandalism, theft, and injury.
  • Monitor CCTV and access control equipment to identify and restrict unauthorized access.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to patients and visitors after normal working hours.
  • Conduct regular testing of alarms and fire drills to ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Current Connecticut Security Officer Identification Card.
  • Minimum two years of previous security or security-related experience.
Competencies
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of applicable state laws and hospital policies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
