Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wireless RF Compliance Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team at Apple. As a key member of our Compliance Engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the wireless regulatory compliance of our consumer products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply wireless system design and characterization knowledge to address emission regulatory requirements in consumer products.
  • Translate emission requirements into system requirements for chipset and platform.
  • Architect and coordinate the execution of software features necessary for regulatory compliance.
  • Help identify potential emission concerns using simulation tools and schematic reviews.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to define emission test plans for custom features, including defining requirements for custom testing solutions and working with test equipment vendors.
  • Assist fellow engineers in debugging regulatory emission failures.
  • Experience debugging marginal/failure tests and engaging with multifunctional teams like RF Hardware/Antenna/Product Design/EE/etc. and drive design changes to address issues.
Requirements
  • Industry experience in development/characterization of RF/Antenna systems for wireless technologies.
  • Experience commercializing products for Cellular/WLAN is required.
  • In-depth understanding of at least one wireless technology, including 5G FR1, FR2, GSM, UMTS, CDMA, LTE, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, and Bluetooth.
  • Experience with regulatory/industry conformance specifications for consumer products.
  • Experience in RF layout review, radiated sub-system review, and system grounding.
  • Experience with one of the tools like MATLAB, HFSS, CST, ADS, etc.
  • Understanding of regulatory features like DFS, Adaptivity, Power Table, etc. is a bonus.
  • Experience with radiated test methodology, equipment, 3m Chamber, etc. would be a plus.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree with 3 or more years of relevant work experience.

Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
