POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician's main duty is to ensure a visually appealing, clean, safe, and well-maintained establishment, utilizing a systematic approach that maximizes guest satisfaction while adhering to budgetary constraints. This role involves maintenance, repair, refurbishment, renovation, and general upkeep of the property.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Ability to deliver professional and courteous service to guests.
  2. Strong time management skills and capability to work independently.
  3. Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  4. Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions, along with effective communication skills.
  5. General mechanical and electrical knowledge, with experience in HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems.
  6. Ability to prioritize tasks while minimizing disruption to guests.
  7. Proficiency in operating small equipment.
  8. Availability to work on weekends.
  9. Previous experience in maintenance is preferred but not mandatory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  2. Perform duties efficiently and within budgetary limits.
  3. Inspect all operational systems and components to ensure proper, efficient, and safe functioning.
  4. Respond promptly to guest concerns and communicate resolutions effectively.
  5. Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems, as well as building components and furnishings. Notify management if external contractors are necessary.
  6. Maintain grounds, landscaping, and parking areas in a clean and safe condition.
  7. Complete scheduled maintenance tasks timely, ensuring guest rooms meet brand standards.
  8. Perform painting, carpentry, plumbing, carpet cleaning, and other tasks as needed.
  9. Manage inventory of supplies, ensuring adequate quantity and quality.
  10. Keep storage areas, workshops, and mechanical spaces clean and secure.
  11. Develop a working knowledge of the property and facilities to effectively address guest inquiries.
  12. Understand and apply all safety and security protocols to maintain a secure environment for staff and guests.
  13. Keep supervisors informed of significant issues to facilitate prompt corrective actions.
  14. Carry out additional duties as assigned.
