Position Responsibilities and Qualifications

Provides guidance that facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. Employs the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for patients and their families. Executes medically prescribed interventions.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with a commitment to obtain a BSN within five years of hiring into the RN position.
  • Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and Mission Health entities.
  • Exemptions or extensions may be granted by the facility CNO and reported to the CNO Council members.
  • Each facility will ensure tracking of exemptions as needed.
  • RNs with ten years or more of experience are exempt.

Preferred Education: Master's in Nursing.

Required License/Certifications:

  • Must possess and maintain current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; licensee should confirm with NCBON.
  • BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Preferred Experience: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting.

This role requires full vaccination for COVID-19 in accordance with local, state, and/or federal laws or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
