We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor or Higher in Surgical Critical Care and Burn Surgery at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care in the areas of burn, trauma, and surgical critical care in hospital and outpatient settings.
- Instruct and supervise medical students and surgery residents.
- Perform burn and surgical procedures.
- Conduct clinical research and/or produce scholarship related to burn and surgical critical care.
- Provide in-house on-call coverage, as scheduled.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations.
- Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
- M.D./D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in general surgery.
- Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care.
- Successful completion of fellowship training in burn surgery.
- Texas Medical License or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas.
- Board certification in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
- Board certification in surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery.
- Strong work ethics and good team player.
- Experience or interest in teaching students and residents.
- Experience or interest in conducting research and publishing scientific reports.
- Emerging or established regional and national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher.
