Holiday Barn Pet Resorts is seeking a skilled Maintenance & Landscape Technician to join our team in Richmond, Virginia.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, and landscape equipment operation. They will work closely with our Facility Manager and leadership team to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting maintenance needs and advising the Facility Manager on repair status.
  • Working with the Holiday Barn Pack to maintain a high level of physical appearance and functionality.
  • Responding to work area problems, assessing, and providing timely repairs.
  • Ensuring maintenance equipment is in good working condition and that other maintenance employees or service vendors have the necessary tools and supplies.
  • Performing all other responsibilities assigned by the immediate manager.
  • Developing cost savings initiatives and practicing and promoting safety procedures in all areas of responsibility.
  • Inspecting and repairing HVAC, generator, and boiler systems, as well as electrical and lighting systems.
  • Assessing and carrying out facility landscape needs, including mowing, edging, tree trimming, driveway repair, snow removal, and other tasks as needed.
  • Resource necessary parts and equipment for repairs and projects.
  • Keeping records of repairs and preventative maintenance activities.

Requirements for the position include:

  • General knowledge of maintenance practices, standards, and concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to facility-related problems with a proactive approach.
  • Solid understanding of facilities maintenance, including environmental and energy systems, painting, HVAC, fire suppression, compressed air systems, minor carpentry, and landscape equipment operation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience.
  • HVAC or electrical certification is a plus, but not necessary if the candidate has proven experience in those areas.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Team player.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proven track record of attendance and reliability.
  • Flexibility to respond to off-hour emergency situations and facility needs.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, pull, push to move objects, pick up and carry items up to 75lbs.
