Job Title: Histotechnician/Histotechnologist Allied

We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician/Histotechnologist Allied to join our team at Upstate University Hospital.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills in histology and special procedures laboratory, with the ability to perform complex procedures such as special stains, immunohistochemical stains, and enzyme histochemistry.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform histology and special procedures laboratory testing in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Section and stain tissues, perform special stains, immunostains, and enzyme histochemistry.
  • Assist in ensuring histology laboratory testing is performed in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Perform computer data entry of surgical pathology and research specimens, and maintain current specimen computer records.
  • Observe and contribute to laboratory safety at all times.
Requirements:
  • NYS License/registration to practice as a certified Histological Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
  • 2+ years of histology or clinical laboratory experience required.
  • Ability to distinguish colors required.

This is a 13-week travel assignment, working 40 hours per week, with a shift of 8 hours, day. The hospital does not guarantee hours.
