About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Associate to join our team at HLB Gross Collins, P.C. in Kennesaw. The ideal candidate will have experience in tax compliance, including internships or public accounting experience. This is a primarily in-person role with the possibility of working one day a week remotely.

As a Tax Associate, you will be responsible for tax return preparation, including tax research, tax planning, and preparation of supporting work papers for various tax returns and tax-related projects. You will have the opportunity to work with a sophisticated client base, including high-net-worth individuals and companies in various industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare tax returns, including individual, trust, partnership, and corporate tax returns
  • Utilize basic tax concepts to provide clients with individualized solutions
  • Identify, research, and analyze tax issues
  • Collaborate with the engagement team and communicate effectively with senior team members
  • Develop and build quality client relationships and loyalty
  • Develop an understanding of the client's industry and recognize key performance indicators, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments
  • Participate in networking activities and maintain contact with business peers
  • Identify and complete other projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Major and overall minimum GPA of 3.3/4.0
  • Previous experience in tax compliance, including internships or public accounting experience
  • CPA license or eligibility to become CPA-eligible in the near future
  • Effective multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements while maintaining work quality
