Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Architect for Advanced Space Operations to support our ground operations systems for space-based research and exploration missions. This role requires expertise in cloud architecture, strong problem-solving skills, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures.
  • Develop new cloud-native platform services spanning major cloud environments, primarily focusing on AWS and hybrid as needed.
  • Integrate cloud-managed AI and data services with other applications across Leidos Holding's divisions.
  • Develop best practices for application development and promote them within the organization.
  • Write quality code and provide engaged code reviews for peers.
  • Identify opportunities to abstract prospective project requirements and develop enterprise-grade, multi-tenant platform services.
  • Work directly with Network Operations Managers interacting with various ground station communities.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance controls that align with Leidos Holding and NASA policies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills and business acumen.
  • Proficiency in cloud management and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of network architecture and security best practices for cloud environments.
Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome candidates with:

  • Relevant cloud certifications.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and Automation tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
  • AI/ML Azure and On-Premise MS experience.
