Job Summary
We are hiring an Electrical Engineering Hardware Manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for the development, production, test, and integration of various electrical components for all space vehicles. This is a hands-on manager role that may also involve development tasks in several areas, depending on the skills of the manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the team responsible for the development of design concepts and architectures to support Firefly's current and future launch vehicles.
- Identify tasks and resources required to meet company objectives, and develop schedules for completion.
- Track progress against schedules and make corrections when necessary.
- Work with outside vendors and contractors to improve their performance against design requirements and schedule.
- Contribute directly to Avionics hardware development tasks, potentially including circuit design, harness design, and/or systems integration.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields.
- At least 7 years' experience in the design and development of high reliability electronics hardware, preferably in an aerospace system environment.
- Knowledge of the development issues associated with one or more various types of components, including RF systems, command and control, power systems, harnessing, and other systems.
- Experience developing task lists, schedules, and other project management skills.
- Experience working with vendors and contractors, managing their progress and issues.
- Outstanding leadership abilities with small teams, and the ability to clearly communicate with engineers and technicians.
- Ability to travel to support test and launch operations.
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in managing teams of engineers.
- Experience with small space launch vehicle design, development, production, test, and operations.
- Knowledge of Inventor and/or NX CAD software.
- Experience with test programs of electrical components to aerospace requirements.
- Experience with system engineering of electrical and avionics components, and how they integrate into a full launch vehicle systems.
